What we do
Prospect’s SkillGain program helps Calgary job-seekers build business and professional skills needed for success in employment and education. All at no-cost to you.
- Up to 20 weeks of interactive training to build the essential skills you need to reach your employment and education goals.
- Program focuses on reading, writing, numeracy, computer skills, oral communication and much more!
- At the end of the skill training program, we’ll work with you to apply for and secure a better job or apply for further education related to your job targets.
- New groups start every 3 weeks.

- Increase your ability to maintain your job once you find it.
- Build skills to be more effective working with others.
- Learn to use computers for job search, applications and the workplace.
- Develop computer proficiency that will allow you to learn other programs more effectively.
- Receive support from a team committed to helping you become more employable.
- Practice new skills in a safe place where mistakes are welcome as part of your development process.
- Develop skills and practices that increase your success in the job search, on the job, and in your personal life.
- Build the capacity to be more independent.
- Earn a Letter of Reference by demonstrating and developing professional behaviours.
- Earn a Certificate of Completion.
Who’s eligible?
- Unemployed or marginally unemployed (working less than 10 hours/week)
- 18 years of age or older
- Ready, willing and able to participate in the program
- Fluent in English
